Iyeh as known as Olivier Chan is a Vocalist, Live looping, Beatboxer, Producer and Performer. At the age of 5, he was always by the radio listening and dancing to music all day long. His love for the music has never left him ever since. His passion has guided him to learn a varity of instrument such as Guitar, Bass, Drums, Percussions, Ravann, keyboards, Didgeridoo, Beatboxing & body percussions.
1997
His first work were to an amateur state, mocking around on synth mingling with the music trend and style looking and experimenting to create a new sound to the Mauritian scene.
1998
While he use to hang out at Smash records in Rose Hill, he was introduced by the owner Jean-Marie and Tony to a Jimi Yan who was responsible of the audio Visual department of the company Talipot Production where they needed his skills to perform on a multimedia two projects. The first was a Multimedia CD introducing the local musical culture the 'Sega' and in
1999 was their main project a five multimedia CD box set called 'The Time of a Century, Mauritius 1900 - 2000'.
He received a lot of attention towards medias at that time due to his young age which was quite a premier for a performer of this time. He worked on this project with many great musician suck as Belingo Faro, Ernest Wier, Menwar...
At the same period, he was also the founder and drummer of the band Ziza. All rehearsals where held at his place where his dad invested in high quality equipment to supply to their needs, in generating that new sound, mixing electronic with rock, was a premiere to the Mauritian music industry. The line up was Ankit Juwaheer guitar and vocals, Thierry Ruggoo, Bass. And Olivier Chan aka Iyeh, Drums Synth and programmer. Their act also incorporated the help of artist such as, Johnathan Thomas, Dominic Everard, Rakesh Burton, Belingo Faro, Daram Takah, Subheer Ramnurth, Kabheer Gobin, Naden Veerapen and Jean Rene Bastien.
1999
The band released there debuting album Blue which hit the interest of the media. The Mauritius Broadcasting Cooperation proposed them to air their tunes so exposing them with four video clips and TV interviews. The radio also had their songs aired in Mauritius and Rodrigues. The news papers followed their lead. The Weekend Scope allocated them the 1st page cover. there were also L'express, L'affiche, Le Mauricien and a couple more.
They performed at several gigs until in 2001, the band Split. Iyeh and Ankit made their way for and enhancement, they went to Australia to study music.
Due to differences in vision, Ankit an Iyeh also split on their own paths.
2003
While doing a course Iyeh met with Rodney Nakien aka Kaira. At that time Iyeh had no musical devices except for a Discman. Using Kaira's PC he then made music to suite his need of fulfilling assignments for schooling projects. He had beats and was willing to share ideas with other. He searched for further collaboration but no one seems interested due to his looks and appearance.He decided to learn how to perform vocally and that was his fate.
2005
Alongside his new partner in crime, Kaira and Iyeh formed a band called Kulcha Klash where they performed in many acts such as Melbourne Mauritian Festival. Zouk love was our 1st single.
2007
Iyeh moved back to his natal country Mauritius.
2008
Kaira came back to Mauritius and the duo performed as guest artists on a TV show, Dance fever, aired on MBC.
2010
Still working toward sounds to improve the Mauritian sounds, Iyeh hermited in his vault trying to find new sounds to contribute to the local scene.
2011
This was a year where his work took a turn met with Natacha Soulange and Julian Pierre so something clicked in his mind, performance is the art of the artist.
2012
He performed with Orion Lion at a couple venues throughout Mauritius such as Le Sapin, Camp Levieux, Rose Hill, a community of musical artist to help promoting locals to promote and perform, Amnesia Club at Ebene, Metropolis at Ebene, Le Kiosk, Ruisseau Creole at Tamarin, to start in promoting himself as a performer.
2014
Still performing throughout the island of Mauritius enhancing his skills playing at pubs clubs and restaurant like Le Bon Choix in Quatre Bornes, Titli in Riviere des Creole, Santosha Refuge in Tamarin and Apocalypse in Curepipe.
Iyeh performed at the "Dreammood" concept performing his live looping set with guitar and beatboxing.
Iyeh collaborated with Joshua on "New Deams" wich was released on GlobalFaction.
2015
Iyeh had the chance to perform at the National Festival PORLWI by Light
2016
Iyeh got a spot to perform on the main stage at Kaz'Out Music festival the same year.
He had a sencond chance to be part of a collaboration with Richard Hein in the making of a music production for the main act "PORLWI by Light 2 edition" played on loop at the govenrment house for the 3 days event.
He also performed his live set at the Festival in the Street category.
2017
This is the year things started to get busier. Iyeh was appointed by "Glam Concept" be the scond act for the opening of "Kas Poz".
In the same year Iyeh got the contact with the same company to produce a track for the Slogan "Nou tou ensam"
featuring Stephanie Mardi to support local Phoenix tavern in Mauritius.
2018
2018 was a difficult start of year with the lost of Iyeh close cousin and producer/beatmaker "Nicholas Thibault Isidore" also known under the producer name "Nicolius". "R.I.P. and we miss you".
In a collective to a collaboration with 2 other friends of Tibo, Iyeh met Dyotbb aka Dylan Paul and the all star Tical Negus aka Pascal Chellen founder of A4C and Larnwar to help the street scene in a "RapKreol Competion".
The aim is to help the Mauritian scene to grow in aid for rapper who doesn't have the opportunity to have an audio recording on a beat by Dyotbb, a video clip, some profesional photoshoot and Face Cartoon by Larnwar.
They have already gone throught the first season, and the winner is K3rjo
Iyeh has also produce a track featuring Skizofan on a modern chill experimental Tribal Sega to be released soon.
The project "Love in 8" is the up coming album of Iyeh to be released soon,stay tuned.
Finally we are awaiting the exiting new project with Dyotbb (DY On The Beat Bro), his 3rd release album to come out on the 2nd of December. Iyeh is featured on a track also with Stephanie Martz, "Lar Vivan"
